
Leadership & Experience
Tom has served on the Wellesley Select Board since 2019, including terms as chair and vice chair. His leadership focuses on fiscal responsibility, thoughtful growth, strong schools, and long-term sustainability for Wellesley.
Financial Leadership
When COVID began, Tom worked with town leaders to assess financial risk and adjust budgets and capital plans. His careful approach protected residents and businesses and helped keep Wellesley on strong financial footing.
Local Economy
Tom supports economic development that strengthens Wellesley while respecting its character. He backed infrastructure improvements that support local businesses and restaurants, worked through issues at Linden Square, and supported alcohol licensing changes that led to new dining options.
Housing
Tom supports increasing housing diversity in line with town plans while prioritizing neighborhood character and quality of life. His approach balances state requirements, a healthy retail base, and community values.
Sustainability
Tom has been a leading advocate for sustainable building and energy use. He supported net-zero-ready school construction, electrification of Town Hall, and all-electric residential development to reduce long-term costs and environmental impact.
Schools & Community Facilities
Tom strongly supports Wellesley’s public schools and helped secure state funding for the Hunnewell and Hardy School projects as vice chair of the HHU School Building Committee. He also led the effort to fund the Town Hall renovation and helped secure funding for improvements to the Tolles Parsons Center, strengthening services for Wellesley’s seniors.
